it’s been a bit quiet here the last couple of weeks. the reason is that I spent most of it in and inbetween buses and jeeps: first we went on a three-day trip around the Salar de Uyuni area in South Bolivia and then drove to Misiones in Argentina for a disappointing trance festival and to visit the Iguazu waterfalls (one must-see thing in the world less to see and yes, they are impressive and even more yes, very touristic). Then back to Bolivia for another trance festival, very nice vibes this time.

I managed to read closely another paper from Etienne Balibar, this time on Violence and Civility and the possibility of political action in the contemporary world. Needs some more work before I will post it here, though.

A friend pointed me to another interesting blog that I wasn’t aware of and while browsing it tonight I found a nice quote which sums up pretty well my attitutde towards writing:

You write in order to change the world knowing perfectly well that you probably can’t, but also knowing that [writing] is indispensable to the world. The world changes according to the way people see it, and if you alter even by a millimeter the way people look at reality, then you can change it. – James Baldwin
